Well I got up this morning, and with some apprehension I checked my fermentor. I have it in a cabinet in my kitchen that is insulated and dark. Its the perfect size really. The temperature seems pretty stable at the desired level.
...I peel back the cover and lo! I see a bubbling in my three piece airlock! Further examination reveals a 1 inch layer of foam has grown at the top of the wort. It would seem my yeast are alive and munching sugar and giving off lots of gas. Good signs.
I checked again this evening, and I still activity. The temp has climbed up about 2 degrees. I'm a tad concerned as that is just above what the recipe calls for. I'm testing some adjustments to the insulation.
Happy, happy, joy, joy.
